Modify XP Requirements/Rewards

Recommended Posts

The xp requirements are a little crazy. A good chunk of the players who are basically the best on the server are still less than level 20 (just poking around on player stats page) and I'm seeing the amount of xp that is required to use the skills is basically impossible to achieve even when playing daily and hours per day.

Exile is a game that people get in and out of. They binge play for 1 week to 2 months and then leave for months at a time. Expecting players to reach level 25 just to unlock perks is a little ridiculous.

Exile servers come and go and this one has to be one of the better ones (mainly easy ejecting, spawn kits and not dying if your atv hits a bush). I strongly recommend against forcing players to grind weeks just to unlock some perks. Another option is to add the 2500 xp daily reward as a base + a roll. This way you reward active players with a guaranteed 2500xp bonus without having to overhaul the xp system. Initially that 2500 xp reward would let you pass early levels but by about level 12 it doesn't do a whole lot thus slowly rewarding active players.

Also being able to purchase roll crates could be an option too that way you can burn extra tabs.

the xp system isnt something that you're supposed to just go through and unlock everything though,

part of the appeal in my opinion is that you need to prioritize which perks you want first depending on you and your role in your team,

for me for instance, i went for the quicker revive speed and repair speed first, since i always carry a defib and often find myself in situations where i only have a little bit of time to get my team back together, and i tend to hold my W key while driving in the middle of forests quite alot..

and i still dont have all of the perks yet, nor do i need them,

i dont raid.. i dont see myself using the hotkey healing, and i spend my poptabs before i ever reach the max bank amount..

its a bonus ontop of the rewards you get for doing basic stuff anyway, i dont think its designed to be the main reward for doing stuff..

Buy a GMG vehicle and blow up every vehicle you see or go around and plant charges and grind peoples bases, its very very easy to get XP

just pointless griefing that's something any sane server community would not want to encourage.

Just want to throw some hours / levels in here that are actually accurate (data pulled from stats page and battlemetrics used from random players with different playstyles so x hours doesnt equal x level)

1484 hours  EXP LEVEL 77

1351 hours  EXP LEVEL 71

812 hours EXP LEVEL 41

626 hours  EXP LEVEL 47

303 hours EXP LEVEL 35

304 hours EXP LEVEL 27

209 hours EXP LEVEL 21

208 hours  EXP LEVEL 22

133 hours  EXP LEVEL 23

132 hours EXP LEVEL 18

It was updated on the 8th October that there is more ways of gaining XP.

Also the amount of XP given for getting kills, destroying vehicles etc was increased along the same update but @Sean didn't mention it. #Badmin
Just got to play a lot and grind the XP 😉

More ways to gain XP:

  • Stealing Flags: Higher the flag level, the more XP you gain.
  • Hacking Safes: Higher the safe level, the more XP you gain.
  • Placing Breaching Charges: Concrete gives more than metal, metal gives more than wood.

Is that something that users should really resort to though? Anyways to me, it seems logical to allow someone to sell a perk they have bought. Say you are allowed to sell one perk per 24 hours such that you cannot swap perks to abuse the system. What needs to be understood though is the necessity of certain perks change over time and over hours. A starter player may put all their unlock tokens into increasing the wages because they have no money, but after that player plays for a bit and has a lot of disposable income the perk becomes essentially worthless.

BL2 Style reset skills, anyone?

It wouldn't be fun if you played for 3 days and were max level. It's meant to be a grind. 🙂

Thats the main issue ^. 99.995% of players will never reach it.

@mushi1996 The XP levels will also not get reset so as long as the servers up, people will keep their rank. So they can always make progression forwards and like Nick stated it's supposed to be a grind.
